Stalham Staithe sits at the head of Stalham Dyke, which runs north-eastwards from the upper River Ant in the northern part of the Broads waterway area, and the parts of the parish next to the river fall inside the Broads Authority executive area. At the staithe, 1 Old Yacht Station is clad in corrugated iron with timber bargeboards in a green and cream colour scheme, under twin gabled roofs. The staithe is a conservation area, so repairs there want like for like materials rather than whatever is on the van. We take on repairs and full replacements both, on the town's houses and on the waterside buildings along the dyke.
Stalham lies about 15 miles north-east of Norwich. Stalham Staithe is a small settlement to the south of the town, separated from it by the A149. The parish church, St Mary the Virgin, is listed Grade II* and is built of flint with ashlar dressings under slate roofs, the aisles leaded, with a brick parapet to its squat two-storey tower.
Terraced red brick cottages of the late nineteenth century run through the staithe, Cordova Cottages and Riversdale Cottages among them, under pantiles; the historic roofs at the staithe are red or black glazed pantiles. Mid twentieth century bungalows sit to the west along Mill Road. Pantiles mean slipped single tiles and tired mortar at ridge and verge.
